Spanish 1

In Spanish 1, you will learn to greet others right away in the manner that you would use when traveling in a Spanish-speaking country. You will learn to express your likes and dislikes, tell about your family and friends, tell time, tell about hobbies and learn about foods, customs, and geography of Spanish-speaking countries. You will watch native speakers as they demonstrate conversational dialogs on videos that accompany the Descubre 1 textbook. You will learn about the music and dances that are popular with young people in Spanish-speaking countries. There will be an opportunity to use technology for cultural research to enhance presentations for skills practice, and for the creation of original projects. In Spanish 1 you will be evaluated in a variety of ways that support students of different learning styles.
