Exploring Computer Science

This year-long course explores the foundational concepts of computer science in a project-based learning environment. Topics include History of Computing, Binary Concepts, Foundations of Programming, Block Programming platforms: Blockly and SCRATCH, Paper Prototyping and the Engineering/Design Process, Application Development utilizing MIT App Inventor, Robotics platforms: Lego Mindstorm, Don't n Dash, sphere, MindBlock, and Ozobot, Introduction to Python and Introduction to HTML Web Design. Students will develop skills in the areas of Critical Thinking, Problem Solving Design Thinking, Computing, and Programming.
